Pauly wrote his annual I’m-so-disgusted-right-now-I-may-never-write-again. Oh, the life of Pauly. I should remind him there are professional athletes on probation all the time due to drugs, money, theft or for being mean to another human being (while lookin’ out for numero uno).
Poker isn’t unique with selfish humans and vices. Selfish humans are everywhere. Co-workers at Starbucks, MLB, the Olympics, politics, religion, health care, media and our education systems. People all over the world will lie, steal and cheat to get ahead in life or to get what they want.
For example, in two weeks one of my neighbors stole about 1k worth of goods from my family. The difference between a neighbor and a scandal is… it’s personal. I don’t know my neighbor but I do know a lot of people in poker. I don’t know anyone in poker who would steal my son’s bike.
The WSOP is exciting when you’re new. After a few weeks, your thirst for excitement becomes satiated. Kind of like… when you eat a whole pizza by yourself… the first piece is great… the last piece, not so much.
I feel badly for Pauly. He always stops by and checks on media. Pauly, you just have to look a little harder for the good ones. Don’t forget…always look on the bright side of life.
