Jeff Madsen Causes Dutch Boyd to Lose WSOB Lounge Act

Doesn’t everyone go to Las Vegas to sing karaoke at a barbeque? Lisa Wheeler of Greasiewheels put together a great party for the WSOB and Budding Ivey Foundation at the Golden Nugget last night. Every year Howard Lederer and Steve Z host the WSOB, this year they joined Phil Ivey’s charity to raise money for the community.

Evelyn Ng rocked Guitar Hero and sported a Motorhead tattoo on her arm. And Karina Jett fired up the Karaoke machine… the heat was on (sans Glenn Frey). I missed Rafe Furst singing but he and Gavin Smith had a bet on who would get the highest score.  Smith sang Sweet Caroline and won first. Furst won second.

But wait, there’s more. Dutch Boyd kicked it old school singing Puff the Magic Dragon using a child-like voice. It was actually hilarious until Jeff Madsen jumped on stage… Madsen didn’t sing badly, he just didn’t sing at all so the performance ended. I think Boyd might have won with his creativity because it was seriously good stuff.  Sadly, Madsen might have blown Boyd’s chance of a lounge act deal.
