World Series Changes Structure Finally…

The World Series of Poker created a buzz when they increased the starting chip stack in 2007.  Unfortunately, the extra chips were a wash because they eliminated some levels.  Specifically an early level that most tournament books taught patient play or in Phil Hellmuth’s case… not playing at all.

Yet, this year the WSOP has some rather stimulating news in honor of the economic stimulation.  Jack Effel announced “All events will have three times the buy-in for starting chips.”  In addition to more chips, the $1500 – $5000 buy-in events will gain levels $75/$150 and $1200/$2400.

Obviously, the $1000 buy-in event will start with 3000 in chips (not as great as 4500) therefore two early levels $25/$25 and $75/$150 will be added to the structure.
