No idea if the sun is setting on the Rio right now because the one thing forbidden in Las Vegas are windows. But I do know there are 765 players left in the 2010 WSOP Main Event.

A few weeks ago, Shannon Shorr tweeted he was reading former NBA referee Tim Donaghy’s new book. I ran into Shorr on break who said it was a really good read. Although, I think he probably tweeted that as well. Shorr and Eric Buchman (see photo) are short on chips in WSOP Event #18 2k Limit Hold’em but they’re still grinding it out.
Nonetheless, if you see Shorr in the hallways at the WSOP this summer, make sure you say congratulations for his recent graduation from the University of Alabama. But don’t bother him while he’s working.

We won’t know who will be the 2008 WSOP Player of the Year for a while but Theo Tran has made two final tables and cashed 25th in Event 13 within the first ten days. When I asked Tran about his pivotal hand against Shannon Shorr he said ” I think I thought about it for too long” and added he felt he shouldn’t have called. Shorr didn’t exactly look like he wanted a call but adrenaline can be overwhelming at a WSOP final table.
Fear not oh mighty Tran, with back to back to back cashes including two final tables…you aren’t looking too shabby these days. See Tran photos after the jump…
