Madeline Ungar, Stu Ungar’s widow, opened Day 2a of the 2008 WSOP Main Event yesterday.  and closed with some top poker pros.  Players advancing to Day 3 and are as follows:

Notables: Patrik Antonius, Vanessa Rousso, Steve Zolotow, Mickey Appleman, Robert Mizrachi, Mark Vos, Barney Boatman, Hoyt Corkins, Tex Barch, Erik Seidel and Thor Hansen.

Best Marketable Names: Julien Studley, Mike Spinasanta, Stephanie Hornet (not sure if womb-envy or Wayne’s World related),  Hai Bo Chu, Daan Slutter, Peter Hanke, Christian Fockenberg, Rod Fani and Maya Antonius.

Shout out to Houston: Billy Seber, Hunter Frey (2nd in chips), Jonah Rogers, Bruce Fox and Mojgan Stringham.

WSOP Day 1B

Barney Boatman, of the Hendon Mob, is playing right by the media desk and his smile and thumbs up was a good tell he’s happy at the moment.  Eric Lindgren is on the featured table wearing a black shirt and Rawvegas.tv label for the third time this series but we’re pretty sure it’s a clean shirt.  And Patrik Antonius is playing today but I’m too lazy to go find him.  There were 1158 entrants today… now down to 963-ish.  Rumors of Day 1D being sold out were confirmed but then heard it was open again.
