Annie Duke and I were guests on Donkdown Radio last night. First, I was on to discuss my WSOP Ladies Event post on how the men playing were treated. Because if there’s one WSOP guarantee it’s that the Ladies Event will cause a debate. I don’t fault anyone for treating the men the way that they did but I do believe it affects the overall view of poker. No matter the situation, good sportsmanship is good for poker.

Bryan Micon asked me to answer some chat questions and judging by his voice, the questions were probably inappropriate. Thank you, Micon for being respectful.

Duke joined the Donkdown trio afterwards to discuss the Epic Poker League and her new book “Decide to Play Great Poker.” And of course, 897 other questions. Micon, Todd Witteles and Brandon Gerson had the chance to present her with some tough questions and seemed pleased with her direct answers. I think the DonkDown guys are growing up! Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Annie Duke’s accomplishments require extensive research to cover everything. Charity co-founder, author, Celebrity Apprentice, the Annie Duke Show, pro poker player, mom to four, the new Professional Poker League Commissioner and soon…Jeffrey Pollack’s poker coach.  I’m sure I didn’t cover everything.  I think of the movie Bachelor Party and want to add…”and then some” to her list. I’m not even going to attempt to write her poker success because I fear a separate server would be needed.

If you missed the Q & A with Jeffrey Pollack, he suggested I ask Duke about the Chippendale Dancers attending the upcoming Federated Sports Professional Poker League. So, I did. The result? Well, let’s just say…Duke’s good sense of humor should be shown more often. Other than the charity event question, she and I had a nice laugh.

Lewis:  How will you select the charity for the charity events?

Duke: There are charities that have embraced and supported poker over the years, so it will be one that already integrates with poker.

Lewis:  Jeffrey said I should ask you if the Chippendale Dancers will be in attendance. Instead, I’ll ask… Do you prefer Chippendale Dancers, Thunder Down Under or Joe Reitman dancing in a black leotard?

Duke:  Obviously, I would choose Joe Reitman, but I’m biased.

Lewis:  Do you think you can get Pollack to play the WSOP?

Duke:  I’d like to see him try. He says all the time he wants to play a tournament.”

Lewis: Are you coaching him yet?

Duke:  He asks and I promised him, as part of my compensation, he would get lessons from me.

Lewis:  Do you and Jeffrey ever butt heads? Maybe like…where to eat dinner?

Duke:  We get along well. He’s so thoughtful. He did ask me the other day “Have you given any thought to what your commissioner wardrobe will be?”

Lewis:  And have you?

Duke:  I haven’t decided on my commissioner wardrobe, but it will be in my personality range. I hope he’s not thinking I need to be in a power suit. Jeffrey will have to take me to Barney’s.

There’s a good chance Duke can forgo the power suit, considering Pollack said “I’m all jeans, all the time now.”
