More WSOP with Hot Chick Tiffany Michelle and Brandon Cantu

BRANDON CANTU

tiffany michelle by michele lewisTiffany Michelle and Brandon Cantu (see photos) will be playing some WSOP poker tonight. ESPN airs more 2008 WSOP Main Event to reveal how a poker tournament is kind of like a reality television show because it comes across as really realistic.  But this isn’t Reality T.V.  Sure, there’s a lot of chanting, deceiving and cashing involved but like I said… this isn’t reality T.V.  It’s a sporting event where players make it look really, really realistic and most have two balls for the game.

Tiffany Michelle Releases Statement Today

tiffany-michelle-gloria-baldwin-espn

tiffany-michelle-gloria-baldwin-espnTiffany Michelle has released a statement today in regards to her recent disagreement with PokerNews.  She is confirming Monday’s (unofficial) statement which is also what I deleted from my post last night since I wanted confirmation from Tiffany before posting…

According to the statement… PokerNews was OK with Tiffany Michelle signing a deal with an online site and was hoping for a Pokerstars deal.  However, PokerNews was only OK with a deal if they were to receive a portion of any new deal she made… or something like that.  I would agree if they were paying her way for marketing only, however they were receiving 66.6% percent of her winnings.

Tiffany Michelle & Poker Sponsorships

I posted on July 3rd that Tiffany Michelle was backed by a pro for the 2008 WSOP Main Event. Tiffany Michelle told Poker Road Radio that she signed an agreement with two individuals (Tony G and Jeff Lisandro) to put up money for a percentage of her winnings and she agreed to wear a patch.  But they/PokerNews states that she was to represent PokerNews.  Who is right?

As for the night of the party, Michelle had no obligation to tell anyone who was backing her at that point.  And if she were privately backed she would still have no obligation.  Meaning, shit talking about what she said to this person and that is

US Poker Players at the 2008 WSOP & Benjo the French

jean-claude-perrot-patrick_bueno

My friend and French poker writer Benjo made a post during the WSOP about the abundance of American flags and pride.  There were flags of all, errrr most nations on the tables during the 2008 WSOP Main Event.  Benjo may be French but don’t label him with the French stereotype because Benjo loves America and is nice, friendly, funny and did I mention very, very, very nice.

As for our American flag pride…  It’s a result of many things.  Here’s a few suggestions…

Owen Crowe Says Goodbye

Owen Crowe has left the WSOP after his pockets nines were killed by the old nemesis hand. The nemesis hand for most is AQ.  BTW – nines usually run hot here in the Amazon Ballroom but today…not so much.  Brandon Cantu was eliminated with the same hand.

Tiffany Michelle Cashes 17th in 2008 WSOP Main Event

Tiffany Michelle said she was feeling pretty good on break but later she confessed she felt the bust was coming.  Sometimes we just know.  And sometimes there are really nice people in the hallways at the Rio offering services.

tiffany-michelle Yep, we were on our way back from break and some guy handed her an envelope with her name printed on the front.  He was very polite and assured Michelle he was available for tax consulting. Awww, so sweet.

Goodbye 2008 WSOP… For Now…

I’m having WSOP déjà vu.  I think I may be on the same flight I took out of Las Vegas in 2006.  The sun has just dipped behind the mountains and the strip is beginning to twinkle with Neon.  Normally when I leave Las Vegas, I look out the window for the Bellagio fountains but when I leave the WSOP my eyes are drawn to the Rio.  My thoughts linger on the little things like…

It’s Official… Tiffany Michelle is a Ho

Tiffany Michelle wanted to match Maria Ho’s 2007 WSOP 38th place so that she could also be a Ho.  Another mission complete as they are now down to 36 players in the 2008 WSOP Main Event.  Michelle is currently 7th in chips trailing the leader Brandon Cantu.  Oooo, Oooo, Oooo.

In related news, Gert Anderson is hot on Cantu’s heels looking to win millions and millions of dollars.  I just hope if Andersen wins… he doesn’t burn through the bills as fast as Arthur Andersen (circa 2000 something).

And in totally related news… like him or not, Phil Hellmuth is outta of the race.

And in kind of related news that isn’t Gary Gnews… check out my latest Girl on Girl Interview.  Or you can watch the Gary Gnu Show after the jump.  Because we all know… no gnews is good gnews…

Phil Hellmuth: Last Champion Standing in 2008 WSOP Main Event

phil_hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth is the last former champ standing in the 2008 WSOP Main Event.  Hellmuth will start Day 6 in the penalty box for being kind enough to teach another player not to risk losing the World Series of Poker playing crappy cards berating another player.

WSOP: Hellmuth Marches On, Cunningham is Lucky & Tiffany Michelle Calls in Sick

2008 WSOP Main Event Day Five:  Phil Hellmuth is still playing because wearing militia gear is lucky.  And we all know Hellmuth says you have to be lucky to win these tournaments or he would own enough gold bracelets to equate his weight.  It’s been a while since I worked at the circus but I’m guessing Hellmuth weighs about 216.

I asked Tiffany Michelle if she called in sick at Pokernews which wouldn’t be very smart because her boss might see that on ESPN.  She said "I told them I would do interviews on break but they won’t let me!"  Well, it’s good to hear a boss or two (Tony G and John Caldwell) know a bit about poker.  Dear Mr. Caldwell and Mr. G, now that you know your employee is skipping out on work to play poker… you can get her updates here

Michelle also said… "I want to be the last Ho standing, you know because "Ho" was the last woman standing last year.  I want to be like her." Well, Maria Ho would be flattered to hear that statement and I think I could introduce you to her… wait… aren’t you two dating? Oh great, I just read WCP.  Why am I sharing a brain with those guys.  OK, so go here to read a bit more of the MicHo* relationship and here to read Girl on Girl with Michelle and Ho.  Note to WCP… MicHo is my Trademark (TM).

Finally, Allen Cunningham (photo right) may be proving his 2007 WSOP Main Event final table appearance was not a fluke.  Even though this will make Cunningham’s fifth cash at the 2008 WSOP and he has five WSOP bracelets… everybody knows you have to get lucky to win because Phil Hellmuth said so.

*MicHo – the relationship between Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho which is a spoof on Benifer and all of those other stupid combo relationship names that make for lazy typing.
