Quick Q + A with Jeffrey Pollack on Professional Poker League

Jeffrey PollackFederated Sports + Gaming Chairman, answered a few questions regarding the new Professional Poker League this morning.  However, don’t expect to read any trade secrets, as I learned at the 2007 WSOP, Pollack uses a highly coded self-destructing flowchart to release news.  Therefore, as in previous years, I asked him other important questions.

Michele Lewis: “Will you be wearing pink ties or jeans?”

Jeffrey Pollack: “I’m all jeans, all the time now.”

Lewis: “Can we have Chippendale Dancers now?”

Pollack: “You’ll have to ask Annie [Duke] about that.”

Lewis: “Will you play in the Pro-Am?  Can either you or Annie play?”

Pollack: “I will not and Annie is not playing in any of our events, either. We can’t. But, I am thinking about finally, after all these years, entering a poker tournament.”

Lewis: “What tournament…the WSOP?”

Pollack:  “Not sure yet.”

Lewis:  “So, it’s possible you could turn pro?”

Pollack:  ”No, that’s not possible, and my mission now is to work with Annie to serve the pro community in a new way.”

Lewis:  “Thank you, Jeffrey. I’m sure you’re looking forward to a poker room return.”

Pollack:  “I am. I’ve missed the energy and the action and, most importantly, the people.”

Pretty sure Duke will pass on the male dancers which is good because I prefer the Thunder from Down Under show anyway.

The professional poker league will have four events at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.  Read the schedule here.  Read previous Pollack interviews here and here.
