HB-222 Attempts Legalizing Texas Poker Tomorrow

Will Doyle Brunson and other top Texas pros see poker legalized in Texas soon?  Texas HB 222 will attempt to legalize the game at the capital tomorrow.  For the second time, I’ve been asked to testify for the legalization of poker in Texas.  In the past, most Texans believed legalizing poker was a pipe dream; however, in 2007 the first HB passed the Texas Lottery Committee and onto the House Floor.  Although the bill died, everyone agreed we would have a better chance in two years.  Which brings us to… tomorrow.

I wish I had more notice to rally up a poker media, pros, players and fans for support.  Those interested, show up at the Capital tomorrow to support legalizing poker in Texas.  HB-222 is scheduled sometime shortly after lunch, however, things can change rather quickly.  Follow me on twitter for any changes.

I have no idea who will be testifying tomorrow before the committee.  In our last attempt we had Pokerati Dan, Clonie Gowen, Lyle Berman and poker legend Crandall Addington (who had some of the best old school stories).

I went to the house of reps website, looking for the broadcast of the hearing. They have it on there but I cannot convert the file to view it on my PC. Are you going to post that broadcast on your site here?

Thanks and sorry I couldn’t make it to Austin (Im in Houston)… Although I did fax a letter to the chairman.

Go get em!!! Do you mind if I repost this on our site? We’ll try and mobilize the poker-army.
