IPhone Home With My BlackBerry

I should break down and get an iPhone.  The iPhone apps are tempting me.  And in a what-the-hell-is-bored world… applications are needed for life simplification.  Even though apps really take time away from occupations.

I miss my touch screen MDA.  I loved my MDA  because it had a touch screen, creating/editing word and excel capabilities, an mp3 player and it wasn’t a BlackBerry.  It also had some crap I thought sounded cool that I never used.  However, here’s a few things I disliked:

1. Ironically, the smartphone was Windows-based but didn’t work with MSN email.  How smart is that?  And after several CSR confirmations to my… “I’m sorry, did you say Microsoft Windows based phone and MSN Hotmail aren’t compatible?”  I reluctantly forwarded my MSN account to my Gmail account which then forwarded to my “smart-phone.”  A bit of hassle but managed to keep up with the BlackBerry.

Something changed and my smartphone stopped communicating with emails.   It was my Gmail, my phone or other.  I never figured out the problem despite searching forums for answers.  Then my husband put my phone on the wrong charger which prevented a future charge. I had no choice but to buy a new phone.

2. Using the touch screen to dial a number.  Sometimes the button had to be pushed more than once.  Sometimes it duplicated a digit.  I had to slide out the bottom half of the phone and use the key pad to make a phone call.

3. People asking ”Hey, is that a Sidekick?”

I’ve had a BlackBerry for a while which I love.  I love having MMS and the ability to PIN.  But I confess, I do feel like maybe I’m missing out.  All those IPhone applications look fun.  Maybe I’ll switch from Blackberry to an iPhone.
