It’s only taken me six months to find the time to configure my Google Voice account. A Google Voice phone number can replace a mobile number. The Google Voice number is transferred to your cell. In other words, instead of giving out your mobile phone number, give people your Google Voice number. That way, if you change your mobile number, everyone still has the Google Voice number. Not only will Google Voice transfer calls to a mobile or land line but it also:
- Transcribes voicemails
- Forwards SMS
- Block calls with lists
- Privacy without giving out your mobile number
You can create different lists. For example, put that big drinker on a list to block calls or text messages in the evening but still use your phone. Block all calls and text messages while working. Create a “allow calls only from the babysitter list.” You simply set a time for Google Voice to block specific lists.
I’m looking to eliminate my $20 unlimited text message plan since Google Voice is free.
I love, <3> and heart Google Voice.
Being that Google Voice is still in Beta, it’s by invite only. Although, I hear invites are for sale on ebay.
