CHAIR RECALLED BUT NOT THE CHIP

While your chips are ready for action turns out your chair may not be so lucky.  According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Iceberg Enterprises recalledfolding chairs due to fall hazards.  This is not to be confused with the lead based paint violation.

UPDATE: No one knows for sure if the recalled chair had anything to do with Vinnie Vinh’s disappearance at the 2007 World Series of Poker.

Gary Thompson, Director of Communications for Sports and Entertainment Marketing at Harrah’s Entertainment, announced this evening that the manufacturer of the World Series of Poker tournament chips “pose no health risk to the public.”  He couldn’t speak for the WPT chips that are shown in the previous post (with the really bad headline) but he did say “Should any corrective action be appropriate, we will take those steps immediately.”  Good plan because running a poker tournament with a lead based paint violation may be an illegal game.  Or at the very least it would make a good headline.

The lead based paint controversy gave me a very large credit at Toysrus from the Thomas the Tank Engine recall a few months back.  Lead based paint is bad for you, who knew?  Apparently it decreases your ability to focus and can cause ADD/ADHD!  Basically this mean that lead based paint products caused everyone to get adderall prescriptions.

And speaking of Thomas, check out this sweet video of him spoofing Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
