New VLog Up Then Down

Last year, I made my first Vlog. Then I pulled a classic Michele move and pressed delete. Pardon me, but I found that last sentence to be funny so I’m going to type it again. Then I pulled a classic Michele move and pressed delete.* Yeah, well… so what. Call me a fickle gemini but the truth is… a vlog just feels… like an episode of Astronaut Jones. You know, SNL’s ” Astronaut Jones Written by Tracy Morgan, Directed by Tracy Morgan, Hair and Make-up by Tracy Morgan, Produced by Tracy Morgan and Melvin Goldfarb.”
I don’t know… maybe a Vlog would prove to be a good experiment.** Kind of like… my professional photos were an experiment (a post for another time). Certainly, vlogs are an excellent blogging tool, fun for social media and modern Blackberry/iPhone technology makes it easy enough to vlog while grocery shopping. Watch out, Emeril?
I’m still out to lunch on this… I’ll keep you posted. For now, watch these two guys lip sync to the Astronaut Jones theme song.
*I’m often teased for deleting, creating, no deleting, ok creating, no definetly deleting several MySpace pages.
Blogger Butt Busto

I’m on a mission to boost moral. Or at least boost my booty. A year and half ago… my six day-a-week work out schedule came to screaching halt. I was busy, I had issues, I had blah, blah, blah life. Fortunately, I lost weight. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of quarter bouncing muscle tone. For the first and probably the last time in my life… I actually thought… “I need to gain 5 lbs.” A problem easily fixed with donuts and cookies. Yet, a few months ago, I looked in the mirror and realized my derriere had apparently snuck out and legally changed her name to… Blogger Butt (TM
)
My trip back to the gym was by no means a plunge. I started by “only wearing” work out clothes, wearing my MBT’s, then I updated my I-pod. I mean, I had good intentions to hit the gym but… well, you know. Finally the day came when… I. Worked. Out. Ah, what a moment of clarity it was for me. I was on the stairmaster listening to some old Micky Avalon when I remembered how much I missed feeling strong, healthy and relaxed. Or in other words… taking care of Michele. Because truly, your body is the only thing you have. Anyway, let me get back to surface stuff before I let anyone in.
So, last month I decided to get my rear back in gear in 90 days with five days of 60 minute cardio, 3 days of weights, lunges, squats, crunches etc. I started this week, so the Blogger Butt should be gone by Nov 3rd. I plan on making posts on my Blogger Butt Buster progress; however, I’m sure my writing will be more active when school starts in two weeks. In the meantime, read about my always parallel friend Lacey Jones as she kind of says “Take that Haters!”

Totally Not Poker But Who Cares…

I love poker. I really do. It has given me some great opportunities I certainly never would have predicted for myself. Like… a job revolving around the ever exciting subject of math. Although, exciting wasn’t the word I would have used in my darker teenage years when the government forced me to listen to monotone polynomial explanations. Sigh.
Poker has provided other excitement, like some super smart wonderful friends. Over the course of the past two years, several of these cool kittens have encouraged me to branch out or put more focus on my mom blog. Yeah, I’ve had a mom blog but it wasn’t a poker mom blog. But I’ve felt the mom blog was too exclusive. Like, I’m a mother, you’re a mother, wouldn’t you like to be a mother $#@$ too? Because what if one day I revolutionize relationships and a non-mom doesn’t click on my site and she misses out on the greatest advice the whole world has ever ever ever read? Yes strangers, I was being facetious.
For now, I’m on the ”Niche Narrow Down“ lowdown. I found some motivation from iJustine a couple of weeks ago be. This girl is goofball funny (that’s a compliment from me) and I think she may be my twin but only like, if I had blonde hair. Or like, if she had black hair. Or like, if she were born 15 years after me and like, had brown eyes. Or like, if I had been born 5 years ago with green eyes and red hair. Huh?
So, once I decide on one the 5,064 domains I bought (more like 20) I will be getting a new site up soon. Of course, I will keep my poker blog going. I mean, where else are people going to read who won the WPT or the WSOP ME two weeks after the event? Duh, right here of course. www.MicheleLewis.comwhere you get the two week old exclusive! Whoo Hoo!
It’s late, I’m tired and I probably shouldn’t even post this but what the hell.

My Warm Fuzzy Poker Friends

When you have some sort of disaster… sms, pins and internet via blackberry really comes in handy. Since Hurricane Ike hit Houston… I’ve received many supportive messages from friends and readers. For example, Eric Morris of Bluff Magazine and the Entities have checked on us several times. Joe Sebok sent some well wishes along with a mental hug, my PokerListings Run-Good Challengers were excited I missed the registration I was safe and Dr. Pauly (who is not related to Dr. Pepper) sent me a sweet message and a new nickname. And of course all of my friends from high school whom I met in real life.
My blackberry allowed me to stay in touch with family despite the hurricane causing the largest internet outage in the history of the internet which is not a long history.
So, the latest is… we have water, electricity and we are safe. My husband’s business on the oth er hand… not so great. Part of the roof came off, the 15ft bay doors blew in, half the side of the building has a crease along the outside from bending in half and that’s because the wind blew the nuts so hard they came unscrewed. Yep, I just wrote that outloud and it was not a pun because I’m not a perve (like some other poker bloggers) but I am married to someone and friends with people who will totally say something about the previous sentence. OK, I’ll be honest…I wrote nuts when it should have been bolts. Crazy.
Seriously though, while his business is a mess… we are grateful to be alive since we have heard some horrific rumors of a particular small coastal town. I just can’t even post what I’ve heard, as it’s too disturbing.

While thousands will be playing PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker I will be joining Matt Showell at PokerListings to play in the PokerListings Run-Good Challenge with the following cool cats:
- Lacey Jones – My little BFF kitten known for her brains, poker and brains. Did I mention her brains?
- Change 100 – Another brainy chick who parties like a rock star, writes, loves handbags and shares my inability to reply on twitter.
- Dr. Pauly – Stud! Need I say more?
- WCP – the cool guys who sat in the back of the bus and now fly the world via private jet taking pictures of breasts around poker tables
- Pokerati Dan – wears ladies glasses that are not prescription but should be when identifying female opponents
- Jason Kirk – Space Man… who has hair and could be the guy in the photo
- Poker Shrink – Magically shrinks poker stacks with his magical wand given to him by Harry Potter himself. Or was it a staff from Gandalf…
- Kid Dynamite – Award winning smart ass
- Shamus – Best Phil Collins updater at the 2008 WSOP
- Matt Showell – Da host
- Daniel Skolovy – Daniel, I don’t know much about you but since you can snowboard we’ll have to chat about my favorite runs on the Birds of Prey.
- Michele Lewis – Some chick who runned good at the WSOP and has
poorlazy grammar
The freeroll starts tomorrow at 2pm EDT on PokerStars and will continue each Saturday this month.
PS – Some of the player descriptions were false and some were real. For example, the magic wand thing… totally real.

Finally, it’s here! What we have all I have been waiting for since the 2008 WSOP. The F*cking Erick Lindgren video. Thanks to Rawvegas and Wicked Chops Poker for the funniest poker video which I am now forced to say… and the Best Poker Video of the Year goes to… Rawvegas.tv! AND the Best Poker Post of the Year goes to… WCP! Congratulations, we can’t wait to hear your acceptance speech.
Watch Daniel Negreanu, Annie Duke (who hosts & plays in poker charity tournaments), Matt Damon and the WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack share their most intimate thoughts of… Erick Lindgren.
I Left MySpace

Dear Dan Michalski:
I’m very sorry I talked you into joining MySpace. I know it was a tough decision for you to take that leap with me. Thousands of mindless people with too much time on their hands creating a true dramatic reality show available all day(like, 24/7 Y’all!).
I never wanted to be on MySpace but my niece talked me into signing up when she told me that was the only way she communicated via the Internet. I told her “no way, it’s for pedophiles” and she was all “like, no, it totally has a bad rap for thaaat, but seriously, it’s really cool”. Reluctantly, I signed up. A week later she deleted her page. That should have been the red flag…
A few months went by and my MySpace page sat lonely, white and unused. Suddenly, another friend said it was a great way to get writing gigs and network in our lovely poker industry. And sure enough, as Charles of the Bodog Beat would say, I crawled back into the deep dark hole of MySpace. This was about the time I encouraged you to do the same for Pokerati, Dan.
It was great for a while…catching up with old friends, networking, chatting with the sexy ladies of poker such as Lacey Jones, Evelyn Ng, Karina Jett , Jennicide and Liz Lieu but time took it’s toll on my soul and soon I found myself thinking about Myspace while working, spending time with family and while I was grocery shopping which caused me to forget to buy eggs for my children. And when my mobile notified me of a comment or friend request I felt the urge to sign on right away. I was hooked, addicted, a Myspace junky and even worse…it’s free. I was like Tyrone Biggums looking for the free crack giveaway. I didn’t know who to turn to for help. My thoughts raced back to the night Evy told me how much better David Williams life was since he deleted his account. I had hit rock bottom with Myspace and I had to admit to myself for once and for all that I had developed a serious Myspace problem.
I’ve really said too much at this point but as SNL’s Jeanie Darcy would say…Don’t get me started.
Anyway, I have to go because I have a life to catch up on. I hope you have an awesome birthday and we’ll catch up when I get home.

Poker and Blogging Busts

As far as you can tell I’m beyond lame. Just when I get busy writing on this blog/column/newsie thing and produce regular content…I leave. I would apologize but this blog isn’t about me so I guess I’m off the hook. Good news, I deleted my Myspace page today and crazy enough found some time to frickin’ blog.
However, I did manage an interview earlier this week with my new Stud of Poker. But you will
have to wait until my vacation is over. Here’s a hint…it’s a guy that has brown hair
and likes poker.
Anyway, no I don’t know much about the Palms bust but I do know that poker rooms that
take a cut are illegal. And if you play in a game that’s whacking 10% of the table
bankroll in an hour then you should be arrested by the poker police for being dumb
enough to play in such a game. But I did hear the players cash was taken but who knows
for sure and someone said some body ran off to Canada.
In other news, the 2008 WSOP will be played at the Rio, just as Jeffrey Pollack said, May 30th – July 17th.
